CUTEC Conference in Cambridge England

All booked!

I will be heading to Cambridge, England on June 9th to attend the annual CUTEC Entrepreneurship and Technology Conference at Cambridge University. We were contacted by the executive organizers of the conference who are looking to reach out beyond Europe to forge new networks of student entrepreneurs around the world. I am fortunate enough to be able to attend and I'll make sure to post an update while I'm over there!

Sauder Entrepreneurship Luncheon

I attended the Sauder Entrepreneurship Luncheon on May 11th at the Four Seasons Hotel. For the most part it was a great event with some notable attendees.

There seems to be this theme at these events to have 10 minute presentations from UBC startups (the same thing happened at the NVD Open House in April). It's great to hear about fresh ideas and businesses coming out of UBC but with 6 businesses @ 10 minutes each it's just too long. The financials and growth plans are all very much standardized. Cutting each team to 4-5 minutes focusing on their unique value proposition would make for a much better event.

New Brand, New Season for Student Entrepreneurs

I'm happy to be writing my first (long overdue) blog post for VSEA. I'm even happier to be proctastinating from studying for my finals at UBC but that's not the point.

The year is winding up and it feels like we've just started. This last semester has been jam packed full of Entrepreneurial events of all sorts. Things really seem to be starting to snowball on campus and in student bodies around Vancouver. We're starting to make a serious positive impact and achieve our goals.
