I'm happy to be writing my first (long overdue) blog post for VSEA. I'm even happier to be proctastinating from studying for my finals at UBC but that's not the point.
The year is winding up and it feels like we've just started. This last semester has been jam packed full of Entrepreneurial events of all sorts. Things really seem to be starting to snowball on campus and in student bodies around Vancouver. We're starting to make a serious positive impact and achieve our goals.

I had the pleasure of announcing the Vancovuer Student Entrepreneurship Association (formerly TEC UBC) in Febuary at the Young Entrepreneurs Dinner. Names change all the time but ours was changed to accompany something more significant. That more significant change is the change in the scope of our organization. We have been working well outside of the bounds of Technology Entrepreneurship and well outside of the boarders of UBC. The switch from TEC UBC to VSEA was an obvious one.
I'm going to wind up this post and reluctantly return to studying but before I do that I'd like to say a few things about the summer and the future in general for the Student Entrepreneurs who we work with.
First of all congratulations to everyone who competed in Bright Ideas 2009 and any of the Business Plan competitions this year for that matter. We still have feedback coming in about the quality of the entrepreneurship that presents itself at these events and I look forward to seeing more next year. The summer presents and interesting opportunity for those of us who are truely motivated to pursue our businesses on a more full time level. I know that several of the New Ventures Design teams out of UBC (taught by Dr. Phillipe Kruchten and Dr. Paul Cubbon) are planning on launching full scale operations this summer and pursuing their ideas with the full attention that they deserve. This is awesome!
I'm doing the same. I'm currently in the pot for some CYBF funding this summer to help out while I launch Clinical Media starting full time on May 1st with Winnie Lai, Joel Matsumoto and Vincent Chan. Thanks team!
Finally, please keep it up over the summer and we'll see you in the fall! There's plenty of cool stuff going on from New Ventures BC to VEF events to just getting in contact with our executive to talk entrepreneurship. Don't be a stranger. There's so much out there for you. Use it!
Best,
Robin
