As of June 1, 2009, TECUBC has been officially renamed to Vancouver Student Entrepreneurship Association (VSEA). This name change reflects the expansion in the scope of the club. VSEA will continue to promote entrepreneurial spirit across student bodies throughout the Lower Mainland.

Winnie is a 4th year Engineering Physics student specializing in Electrical Engineering with a Minor in Commerce. She joined the TEC executive team in 2005 and since then she has learned a great deal about entrepreneurship and has vastly expanded her network. Her ultimate dreams are to unite students from different faculties and to witness a "Google-type" startup at UBC. Winnie enjoys classical music and in her free time, she likes to snowboard, shop and watch hockey.

Armin is a third year finance student and he is also persuing a minor in economics. Armin sees companies as mathematical equations that if solved have the potential to change the world and generate high returns for its investors. Armin has experience in running events and communicating with financial firms and hopes he could use this experience to TEC UBC's advantage. Armin wants to know more about how different companies work and he thinks working with startup companies is essential for this purpose. That is why Armin is excited to be part of TEC UBC.

Robin is a third year Electrical Engineering student. He became interested in entrepreneurship in 2007 and founded his first start-up in summer 2008. Robin believes that entrepreneurship starts with an entrepreurial attitude or way of thinking and hopes to spread that philosophy across campus. After playing for the UBC Thunderbirds Men's volleyball team in his first year, Robin has redirected his spare time to entrepreneurship, UBC Rec, SIFE, and now TEC.

Joel is a 4th year computer science student. He joined the club in 2008 and is happy to learn about the entrepreneurship opportunities available for UBC students through the club. He likes commerce and would want to one day set up a business of his own. He is also pursuing a minor in commerce. Having Chinese and Japanese heritage, Joel is fond of different cultures and has worked in Hong Kong for two years. In his spare time, he likes to play badminton, cook and sleep.

Anna is currently a first-year science student planning to pursue a combined major in Computer Science and Statistics. This is her first year joining the Technology Entrepreneurship Club at UBC, and through her first experience with TEC UBC, knows that it is a unique team with diverse team members from different areas of study. She firmly believe that members of TEC UBC have the common goal of bringing to clear view, the resources available to future entrepreneurs, be it to individuals in the Faculty of Applied Science, Science, or Commerce and Business, etc... During Anna's spare time, she enjoy painting, swimming, and hiking or spending time with friends.

After graduating from high school, Joseph enrolled in a Network Specialist program at Northwest Digital to pursue a career in Information Technology. He subsequently worked as a System Engineer at Amadeus. Currently he is a 3rd year commerce student at the Sauder School of Business. He has held a lifelong passion for martial arts including wrestling, boxing, tae kwon do, Muay Thai kickboxing and Brazilian jiu-jitsu. He also competed for the Canadian Welterweight Muay Thai title. In 2005, Joseph moved to Taiwan to gain experience in business, study Mandarin, and develop his skills in martial arts. While going to school full time, he subsequently worked for an International logistics company as well as a trading company. He became very interested in the global economy and after being overseas for more than a year he knew right away he wanted to pursue a career in International Business along with Finance. After graduation, he plans to work in Hong Kong in investment banking. His qualifications include the CFA - Charter Financial Analyst Level 1 (In Progress) and the CSC - Canadian Securities Course (level 1 & 2). He was also a Jr. Analyst for a boutique investment banking firm specializing in the micro-cap arena.

Mustafa is a third year Electrical Engineering student with Biomedical Option. Mustafa has found inspiring individuals in the Technology Entrepreneurship Club team at UBC. He has joined UBC-TEC with a vision of establishing an entrepreneurship centre for passionate students. The goal of this centre would be to provide direction and assistance to enthusiastic young entrepreneurs around the UBC campus. Mustafa enjoys biking, politics, religious studies and working with others.

Charlotte isa second year mechanical engineering student and an international student from China. In her spare time, she enjoys music and exciting sport games. Working for the auto industry is her dream, and that's the reason she in mechanical engineering. This is her first year in TEC UBC, and she feels very excited about being a part of this team. She believes no one is born to be, or not to be an entrepreneur. Hence, it's our job to increase the university students' awareness of entrepreneurial spirit. Peter has experienced working for himself first hand in the past, building a small online goaltending equipment business as well as managing a portfolio of investments. Peter aspires to build and lead companies to fruition, and thus finds himself at home at TEC. Most of Peter's free time is spent on the ice, either skating or goaltending for his team, though he's always up for a conversation!
